Introduction to the Suffolk Young Umpires Action Group (SYUAG)

In response to an England Hockey initiative to provide development
opportunities for young umpires (13 - 21 years), SYUAG has been formed.
Its objective is to support a pathway for young umpires representing "start"
through to "success" in hockey umpiring. SYUAG strategically guides
young umpiring in the county. It wishes to to appoint or control
the apointmenrt of young umpires to Youth Games, and future mini hockey
events. It wishes also to appoint to the U11, U13 and U15 competitions
in the Suffolk Youth League, and would like to invite clubs entering the
SHA Girls U17 league to approach us for appointments to these fixtures.

The action group will run the Young Umpire Award and the Foundation
Umpire Award during the season.
