Introduction to the SCHUA
The SCHUA is responsible for the provision of a neutral pool of umpires for men’s hockey in the East League Divisions 1 and 2, and for Suffolk Clubs in Division 1 of the East Women’s League, and for all aspects of League umpiring. In addition, the SCHUA encourages umpire development through the provision of Level 1 (L1) qualification courses and by coaching umpires to improve their abilities and status. Persons wishing to obtain the L1 Umpiring qualification, or require coaching or assessment should contact Dave Charles.
Level 1 (and other qualified) umpires are encouraged to become members of the SCHUA, this being a requirement for those qualified umpires intending to officiate in the neutral pools and/or League Hockey within Suffolk. Annual membership is £5.00 and includes 3rd party liability insurance. Enquiries and applications to John Wilkinson (or through your club Umpire Liaison Officer in the first instance).
For 2008/9, the SCHUA is to continue to be managed by its own committee
and is represented on the committee of the SHA & ERHUA. The Officials
and Neutral Pool members who accept pool appointments are listed in the
tables below.
